First off, I want to say the counter staff has always been very nice and pleasant, and that all our previous visits here went great...until this one. I've brought all of my animals to Northwest Pet Hospital multiple times. Recently, we welcomed a new dog into our family and made an appointment to have her spayed at Northwest Pet Hospital. We were told to drop her off at 8am, so we did. At 2pm (6 hours later) we received a call from the vet telling us that our dog had been placed in a kennel upon arrival, and was allowed to chew on the cage to the point where she broke her tooth and exposed the blood vessel. The vet told us our options were either to do a root canal or pull the tooth. We opted to pull the tooth. Upon arriving at the vet for pickup at 5pm, we were told there would be an extra $300 added to our bill. I asked if there were a way to have this cost removed or at least discounted, considering this was not a surgery-related cost or complication, but rather something that happened prior to surgery because my dog was not being cared for properly by the staff. After going back and forth with the vet for a while, I asked why my dog was left unsupervised in a kennel for 6 hours and allowed to chew on the cage to the point of injury. The answer I recieved was "she was initially well behaved, so we didn't pay as much attention to her as the other dogs." I asked why, upon noticing that she was biting the cage, did you not either 1) call me immediately, 2) remove her from the kennel and into a different area where she could not injure herself, or 3) place a mesh muzzle on her, which Northwest Pet Hospital has readily available for when they work on dogs that may be reactive. I also said I did not realize my dog would be stuck in a cage for 6 hours and left to do nothing before the procedure, and that had I known this, I would've either asked to drop her off a bit later when it was time to do her pre-surgery bloodwork, or I would have stayed at the office for six hours and watched her myself. My dog is a rescue and the staff was well aware of this as my dog had been to Northwest Pet Hospital prior to this date. The vet could not give any actual explanation other than attempting to shift blame and avoiding a real answer for my questions. The vet left the room and a different staff member was sent into our room to give care instructions and medication. This staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional. Not sure if she was told to be intimidating (or attempt to be) but she was very loud and kept reiterating "if something happens to your dog, it is your fault and your liability to fix, not ours". Her attitude made it impossible to ask questions we had or do anything other than take the medication and leave. It was very clear the veterinary staff started to prioritize their resentment towards us rather than focusing on the care & aftercare of their patient, who they were negligent towards. The veterinary team at Northwest Pet Hospital was negligent and did not care for my dog the way they were entrusted to. Now my dog, who isn't even a year old yet, has to live the rest of her life missing a tooth. I can no longer trust the team at Northwest Pet Hospital with any of my animals. If you choose to go here, I certainly hope your visit is more alike to what all of my previous visits were; rather than the most recent experience I had.

I absolutely love Northwest Pet Hospital. I have 3 pets and they all go to this one location. The staff is very kind and professional. One of my pet can be very aggressive, protective mode. They make sure the lobby is cleared and take her immediately to the back. Their very good with all my fur babies. The office is very nice and make sure the pet owners are comfortable and stress free which means alot. This place is BEST!!! Thank you so much for being so kind while taking care of my fur babies! ❤️
