The location is really was this hotel has. The rooms are small, walls are incredibly thin. We could hear the person's phone in the next room vibrating. The beds are uncomfortable and make a ton of noise anytime you roll over. The bathroom fan didn't work and the windows don't open, which was particularly not fun since we walked into an utter fog of air freshener. It was insanely heavy in the air. The hotel does not impress, does not have amenities, and is not nice, but it is close to the Mall and White House, so if you want a room that's a room and want to make sure you leave it, it's for you. I will say, the front desk staff were nothing but polite, efficient and friendly.

Fantastic hotel, affordable, prime location and clean! In the area more than enough eateries and the National Mall within walking distance (about 1.5 km). Next time I will book here again👍

Let me start by saying, I really love this hotel. The style is unique without being over the top, and the location of it is perfect for tourists. With the amount of bikes and scooters around, you can be at any Smithsonian or monument within ten minutes. However the room we were in needs a LOT of love. The sink faucets were leaking so we had to wrap a towel around the handles so the counter didn’t continue to get soaked, and the bathroom door was off the hinges so the door didn’t close all the way. The tv in our room didn’t work, thankfully we had our laptops so just watched movies on them, but was a bit annoying to not have access to the tv. But my biggest complaint and my main issue, was the bed. This was by far the worst hotel bed I have ever slept on. I think cardboard may be more comfortable. The mattress was so old that dents on the sides of the mattress are so deep from people sitting on it over time, that it is impossible to lay flat on. The pillows are also extremely thin, I’d recommend getting at least two more per person from the front desk. Despite all the negatives though I did enjoy the hotel and would consider staying at it again!

No. This hotel only has a bed for you to lay your head. Many restaurants within walking distance though. Rooms are very small.
No, but there is a microwave in the lobby
It does not have its own parking nor does it offer any near the hotel
Yes, in every direction.
Definitely will need a parking garage as there are only parking meters on-site. I did arrive late the first evening and parked overnight at a meter, which I did at the advice of the front desk who correctly said I would be fine as long as I moved my car before 8am. During the weekend it is more difficult as many parking garages close for the weekend - so be sure to check that. That being said, we found 3-4 garages that stay open over the weekend within a few blocks of the Architect. Finding an online listing of garages with prices and open/close times was spotty at best (even Google) - we found driving around the most time-effective way, unfortunately. All of this being said, the front desk of the Architect gave me a specific address and location for a parking garage that was nearby when I asked later the next day. They also gave excellent recommendations for dining and locations of the rentable-bike stands (less than a block away - a great way to sightsee and highly recommend).
Yeah I'm pretty sure we used our debit card last time.
No, but there are parking garages around it. Just make sure they are open when you need your car. They are closed on Sundays. There is also street parking all over
They do have double beds! Not sure if it's every room though.
