How much is emissions test
You need to go where you bought the car the license branch doesn't issue temp plates
No. You don’t need to bring in any paperwork. We will use the VIN to get all the information we need. Any other questions? Give us a call at 1-888-240-1684.
All they need is your VIN # of the car. You should be ok with just that.
When you register your vehicle at a Clean Air Car Check station there is a $10 convenience fee along with any BMV fees.
No, the ABS light will not cause an emissions failures. Just the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light will.
If the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 9,001 pounds or higher the vehicle is exempt. You can typically find the GVWR on the VIN plate in the driver’s side door jamb.
If the code is no longer present just go back for a retest. You’ll still need to fill out the Repair Data Form, but you can complete it as the motorist.
You can but there is a $50 fee for out of state vehicles.
Indiana registration only
It is a 50 dollar non refundable out of state fee and I would check with Illinois to see if they take our test.
Yes, but Clean Air Car Check charges an out of state testing fee for anyone who isn’t registering their vehicle in Lake or Porter County, Indiana.
Nothing is needed.
I'm pretty sure all 3/4 and 1 ton diesels are exempt regardless of what your truck is plated.
Yvette, Thank you for your inquiry. Even model year vehicles, such as yours, are due for emissions tests in even calendar years. Odd model years are due in odd calendar years. As long as your vehicle was tested on schedule in 2018 it should not need a new emissions test until 2020. If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call Monday - Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 1-888-240-1684. Regards, Clean Air Car Check Customer Service
You can only have 2 temporary permits per vehicle per year..
Usually AutoZone can scan your car and give you insight in what the problem may be free of charge.
Not a problem, all the information can be retrieved on site with your VIN number
In the state of Indiana and every other state in the US....it is illegal to operate a motor vehicle without a tag or with an expired tag..... on a public road , if stopped...you could not only receive a ticket ...they will most likely tow your vehicle...they...the police...rarely have a sense of humor.......
