Sean greeted my family upon arrival to the cemetery. He was professional, respectful, and kind. The committal service was the same. We were not sure how we felt about burial in a national cemetery, but quickly we were SO glad my grandfather was not anywhere else. Thank you to the servicemen and to Sean and the burial team for working hard in the cold and snow and not rushing us.

Flowers allowed all year. They get removed periodically by cemetery.
When you pull in the cemetery on the right is a kiosk do you put your loved one's name in and it tells you where and how to get there it prints it out
Yes its about 3 within a two mile radius.

Yes, and there is wonderfully helpful staff, clean restrooms and a peaceful grotto next to the cemetary.

Yes
Rarely--by law we can not go more than 48 hours without an interment scheduled. If there is a Monday holiday, we would offer services the Saturday before. The last Sat service we did was just before Memorial Day. Short answer: not really
Within 60 days very efficient process.

a room or building with niches for funeral urns to be stored.
www.cem.va.gov then use the “nationwide gravesite locator”. You can search any National Cemetery and even print the map from home. But to save you the trouble they are in section 39, site 472. When you come in the gate off of west third street, make a left at the first left in the cemetery. Follow it to the stop sign and proceed straight through. Section 39 is on the left in the traffic circle in front of you. The number will be on the back of the headstone.
You can check names and location of the plot at the entrance. I don't think the info is online, but you can try calling them.
There is some incorrect information here. In order for a spouse to be eligible, the Veteran must be eligible. Basic eligibility requirements are: to have served on active duty, be honorably discharged, never committed a capital crime or have been convicted of a life sentence for a sex crime. Reservists / National Guard are eligible if they deployed, were called up by executive order or retired. As long as the spouse is clear on the crimes he or she may be interred at any National Cemetery with or WITHOUT the Veteran. The Veteran does not need to be interred there in order for a spouse to be. The Vet’s name will be on the stone/marker/niche cover to recognize their service whether they are there or not. The format is just a little different.
If you remember a line from one of the poems, you could google the line in quotes. Great question!
If you stop by the Administration office and ask for assistance accessing a grave site the staff would be more than happy to assist you.
You can leave flowers. They will stay for awhile; not sure how long.
I would recommend that you call ahead... They do have transportation for special occasions and holidays; electric golf carts... Haven't seen them on regular days. Park by curb nearest your loved ones gravesite.
