I grew up in Centerville and having a town Library is a huge benefit for our children and community. With that being said there are many issues happening here, some not all the fault of library staff. The biggest is hours, they are not correct on goggle and when you make inquiries by phone you are told incorrectly. Going to the library is a fun time for my children and seeing their disappointment when told the doors are locked for some unknown reason, multiple times in a row, is poor service to the community.

Anyone, regardless of residency, may come to the Centerville Library. A library card is required only if you wish to check out materials to take with you. Centerville Library is a member of Evergreen Indiana, a network of over 100 Indiana libraries. The library card that you obtain at Centerville is an Evergreen card and it may be used at any Evergreen library. Center Township Residents: Bring a government issued photo ID. If your ID does not show your current address, also bring a utility bill, tax receipt, or bank statement that has your current address. Anyone 17 and younger does not need to have ID, but the parent or guardian signing for them must show ID.
I believe so always have to go to the side door up the steps.
It was the original county court house for Wayne County Indiana. At one point, Richmond residents "invaded" Centerville to move the county seat to Richmond by force. A cannon was used and there is actually still damage to the front of the library from a cannon blast. Really cool story that a lot of folks don't know.
