The lady who I spoke with on the phone was very very rude and not helpful at all.

People really should spay or neuter their pet to help stop the over population. Maybe offer cheaper to no cost services like spaying and neutering

Everyone there is very nice. The dogs there are very sweet. They keep it clean in the building.

Adopted a kitten from them through Pet Smart, there was very little info on his intake at the store(he has some minor abnormalities). I called the day I brought Charlie home so I could get some more information on his background. I called after operation hours so left a voicemail, was called first thing the next morning and given all the info they had. They are very professional and made everything a breeze to adopt my boy. Highly recommend them they are great.

Thank you for adopting! We love pupdates from our adopters. : - )
If you are a Jessamine County resident we can take the dog, please have ID or proof of residence if/when you come. If there is not an immediate time constraint we would recommend using ApoptAPet's re-homing service here: https://rehome.adoptapet.com/?utm_source=Mothership&utm_medium=Navigation%20Bar&utm_content=Rehome%20a%20pet%20-%20nav%20bar%20link
Yes it remains the same
Hello Donna, we do have limited slots for rabies shots on Wednesdays during our spay and neuter clinic but outside of that we are not able to provide any other vaccinations. If you'd like to schedule a rabies shot though please feel free to give us a call.
Yes, they are a no kill shelter.
Unfortunately at this time we don't have the funding to be able to provide a free clinic.
The spay/neuter program is shut down for the winter, give us a call in late February and we should have a date for the first clinic this year.
Sorry but no someone already got him
We are a municipal open admissions animal shelter with a very high live release rate. There is no such thing as a no kill shelter
We can always use volunteers! Please complete the application on our Website wwwadoptjcacc.com or stop by the shelter!
Here is what I found under the ordinances for Jessamine County: CONTROL.The ability to manage and direct the behavior of a dog, either by leash or by observation and voice command. A) An owner of a canine shall be responsible for restricting that canine to the property of the owner 24 hours a day. Restricting a canine to the property of the owner may be accomplished by way of leash, chain, leash and running wire, fence (electrified or non-electrified), or any other means, provided the means of restraint are calculated to restrict the canine to the property of the owner in a reasonable and humane manner; and meeting the requirements set forth in 90.08 (F)
Unfortunately no, the only folks we know of around here would be Pennyroyal Vet in Lexington.
Hello, An officer frequently checks the voicemail after hours. If it is an emergency call dispatch will radio the officer. Can we be of assistance?
Not at the moment. It's not very common for us to get a pug in.
Dogs 6 months and under are $150, over 6 months are $120 although from today through 8/28/18 all dogs over 1 year are only $80. Most dogs will only have the training they came in with, however a few dogs are sent every couple months to Lexington where they are trained for 6-8 weeks in our Barkburn program.
Contact animal control, they will look into it and determine if it is abuse.
Prices are subject to change but the monthly clinic hosted by the Jessamine TNR program is usually around $35.00. Vouchers can be purchased here at the shelter any time we are open. Please keep in mind we can't accept cash as payment; card, check, or money order are OK. We recommend calling before coming to ensure there are still vouchers available.
Yes they need a lot of volunteers.
As of 2018, dogs over six months are $120, and puppies under six months are $150. This fee includes a fecal exam and deworming, all vaccines (DAPPv and rabies) for one year, a flea and tick treatment, a heartworm test, a license if you are a Jessamine County resident, a microchip, and a free wellness exam (check-up) at either Animal Hospital of Nicholasville or McCaw Banks. There are occasionally discounted prices on cats and/or dogs, which are announced on the Facebook page. Animal Hospital of Nicholasville picks two cats and two dogs every month to fully sponsor, so keep an eye out for those as well.
I'm not really shore I take my grandson once in a while when we can I'm sorry I wasn't no help .have a great night
Cats are currently $40, thanks to the generous support of the Animal Hospital of Nicholasville who sponsors half of the otherwise $80 adoption fee for cats. The $40 will include the spay/neuter, rabies and all other vaccinations, a microchip, fecal exam, deworming, and a flea & tick treatment. :)
