Just started donating blood since a law prevented me from do so in the past because I was born in Germany. Both times, I had great experiences. The staff is very professional and very personable. The front desk, the screeners, and the people taking the blood are all such kind and wonderful people. I will continue to try and help make a difference for people in need and I won't bother changing to a different location any time soon!
all types of ill SH1T !
I've been donating for years. I've been to a couple different donation centers and this one I like the best but they're all really good. Also send me another enamel pin. I don't want money I don't want t-shirts for my donations. I don't want anything but one time you guys sent me a beautiful enamel pin in the mail and I wore it all the time till I lost it. So if you got any more of them blood drop enamel pins with the gold outlining hook a donor up.

No not initially, and no need to have that info going in. All types are welcome and needed. They will tell you your blood type but it will take the lab some time to do all of their tests and then a few days after that you can go online and see those results, like blood type. There is just no way to tell you at the time of your donation because the neighborhood donor centers do not have any of the equipment to perform those tests. All tests are done in the lab on the top floor of the main location in Clifton next to UC Hospital.
Nothing my blood is for however needed.
Hoxworth is a donation center for patient use and you do not receive payment. They do have a point system that you can get movie tickets and various gift cards with after they are accumulated.
