Beautiful green from winter rains and a bit muddy on parts of the trail

I typically love trails with strong elevation gains but this low grade path was truly magical, stunning. So many unique features of ferns, fungi, caves etc., interspersed by an idyllic stream. Can't wait to return and cover more than two miles in. Best of all we saw only two other hikers there over the course of a few hours. It is also perfect for trail running, the path is soft and several long stretches command you to run and leap at times. I love the Northwest so much 🌲🌱 Parking limited, about 6 or 7 spots. Discover Pass required. This trail is closed through Oct 30th for DNR maintenance/logging.

Road is paved all the way to the trailhead. Beautiful, well maintained trail that follows the river. There are a few easily crossable log bridges.

Technically, pet friendly only to ONP boundary, about a mile in. I have seen dogs on leash past that point

Yes preferably on leash to the national park boundaries. Great trail, hope your dog will cross narrow split log bridges. Enjoy
