This place reminds me of the family restaurants I used to go to back in the 80s. For me it was nostalgic, in a good way. The staff were nice and helpful. Plenty of seats, so there was no wait. The menu has a bunch of options for everyone in the family. We were there mid-afternoon for a late lunch. I opted for the BLT chicken sandwich (nicely seasoned grilled chicken breast with bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado on a sesame seed bun), and crinkle fries (haven't had these in years). I enjoyed my meal along with an unsweetened iced tea. My son got the kids size spaghetti and meatball. The pasta was al dente which was fine, but the sauce tasted weird (I confirmed that when I tried a bite). It was kind of sweet, but not like a typical marinara sauce. It came with one large meatball that was so dense that he was having a hard time cutting it. He's twelve and doesn't usually have a problem cutting things. He was disappointed with his meal and only managed to eat a quarter of the large portion they gave him. Honestly after trying his food, I can't say I blame him. So it's kind of hit or miss depending on the dish. The prices are a little high, but if you're just visiting the area, it's a decent choice compared to some of the other options.

Ordered the same thing on 3 straight occasions. Early in the morning when it is relatively empty. Got the wrong food. The 3rd time I mentioned very respectfully to the waitress that the chef isn't clear on how to make some things on the menu. Someone should let him know. She replied, "well, its the owner." To which I doubled down, "well, the owner doesn't know how to make what's on the menu." When she returned, she had to apologize for the owner who was no where to be seen. Our table was told, "well... he is tired." Not only is he tired, he is a coward for sending someone else out to make excuses instead of owning his own mistake. Made excuses, blamed his worker, wouldn't come out and apologize... quick way to lose customers. I suppose mediocre service is acceptable these days. The establishment is about as average to below average as it gets. Owner... learn your menu. Being tired is a lousy excuse. Be better, its not hard.

So I went to Groton Townhouse after therapy I felt like a nice salad. This is what they served as a BLT SALAD. The lettuce was bulky with a lot of spine pieces the bacon hard then egg medium well just very unapealing. The manager refuse to see me and it least offer a alternative. The server simply said he's busy and can't come out but he did come out to greet another coustomer. My last time with them.

I love it here. Great selection of food. For the first time I ordered breakfast food. It was delicious. I love the soups here. Only one time did I get a bad one to go. Lots of yummy desserts are always available. My fav here is the whole clams. Generally you get a pretty good portion of whatever you order.
