I’m surprised at how much they don’t care about patient privacy. Both ladies at check in are very loud, asking people to state 1st and last names, and talking about their health concerns. Other than that, facility is located at a not too busy location.

Been a struggle trying to schedule vaccinations with them. Cannot make appointments for immunizations over the phone. They have slots for vaccines on the immunizepolk website but I have yet been able to successfully sign up for anything. Would much rather go to a pharmacy or a private clinic but they are the only organization with the vaccine I'm trying to get.

I received my first drive-thru COVID vaccination at the Carpenter location near Drake University on Saturday. The process and staff there were amazing, friendly, and quick. There was no line like I've seen on TV about other vaccination stations. It took longer for me to drive across town than it did to get the shot and be on my way! The service is amazing and I highly recommend making an appointment with Polk County Health Department. Thank you so much!

You can go to the county registrar's office of the county where you were born or go to the Iowa Department of Public Health's Bureau of Vital Statistics. There is an online option to order your birth certificate if you live outside the Des Moines area.
Probably supply finally outpaced demand, so now they're not getting used fast enough to keep up with the expiration dates. For my own use, I'd give that date as least a month or two grace period in confidence - it's not like it suddenly goes bad on a certain date, just slowly becomes less reliable over time. But if you're concerned, I'd suggest calling Polk County Health and asking if they have any with dates further in the future that you could go in for.
Yes but you still need a mask on to enter the lobby.
You just need to have a phone or internet to make an appointment.
Any doctors office really. But if you want to be sure go to the county health department. I love going there for all my vaccinations
$175.00 ($150.00 vaccine, $25.00 for administration) per shot, 2 shots, 2nd shot 1-2 months after the first
