My First encounter with the Alaskan ⛴️ system. As a "walk-on". It was All Good. Smiles 2The Ship Line Company. Bathroom Clean and accessable. 🚿 Showers too. 1 Dollar gets a towel/washcloth an a wee-bit of a bar of soap. I set up my New Tent. As others set up tents (inside or outside). All persons and families respectful of One a Nother. As it should be in LIFE. Also: random picture - taking - a must of mountains, Sea, stuff.

When I was younger and still lived in Alaska, I used to ride the ferry back and forth from Bellingham to Ketchikan. Stopping here for a quick visit definitely brought back memories of being a child. I did not ride the ferry this trip, but enjoyed looking around. One of these days I'll travel the inside passage again and see how much has changed.

Orca's, humpback's, history, glaciers, and a chance at the aurora borealis at sea.

Call them.
The Columbia and Kennicott both had laundry machines and detergents for sale
They have a great website and wonderful customer service, if you are planning to drive on, prior reservations are required, if a walk-on without berth it's cheapest. If you need a berth, best to reserve it ahead of your sailing date. I hope this helps! Have a great time!
Hello! I am not an expect by all means. I rode one way to Sitka. I know the ferry continued to Kake. I think that may be the farthest north the ferry might go. With Covid happening, the schedule is more limited that previous. Not all destinations are all the time. Definitely checking with the Alaska Marine Highway System will be exact in giving answers.
I would get a Covid-19 test just before boarding and last time I heard you could get through Canada but you can't stop and must drive straight through but you better contact the Canadian authorities
You can sleep in a chair in the lounges....the best option is bring a warm sleeping bag and sleep up top under the cover of the solarium. You can also pitch a tent up there but be sure yo weigh it down with gear as it gets windy and there is no way to tie the tent down.
Yes there is
There is still just took one last Saturday
Dont know fora fact rates always changing. Contact the Alaska marine highway for exact costs and routes
Everything you need to know, you'll find at this link. https://dot.alaska.gov/amhs/fares.shtml
It will depend on were you get on the boat. More than one port to load. Not cheep if you bring a vehicle or trailer they charge by the foot.. Bellingham Wa. Is a major load point..
Ask at the desk, but I believe if your a walk-on, Way sooner than if you have a vehicle 😊😊
Don't know bring your own food no longer a bar onboard either

Yes, we found the lockers. These are medium large and are located outside the terminal, in the parking lot near the bus area. You could fit 1 roller board medium large or one large duffle bag in a single locker. We didn't have a chance to investigate but the Amtrak station is also nearby and potentially also has luggage storage?
What terminal are you leaving from? I'd its Bellingham, there is ling term parking but you might want to call the terminal for specific duration limits
can I take ferry from Skagway to Seattle? I have a car as well.
