Very nice and helpful staff. I Iove going there and being "released" from all that "stuff". Was wondering if you all could put some wet wipes out. I'm always forgetting them. They dry out in the car. It would be nice.

Questions & Answers

Do they take cardboard boxes

Anthony Potter | Jun 6, 2022
Jason Blight | Jun 6, 2022

Yes, cardboard, glass, #1 and #2 plastic, paper, tin cans, and aluminum.

Good Sunday Morning! I live in Lamar and our facility no longer accepts glass. Are you all still accepting glass? Do I need to separate out the colors or remove the lids/caps? Thank you for your time.

Yes, there is one bin for clear glass and one for all others. Lids should be removed. Clean glass only - they don't want to deal with food debris.

Anyone know if they take in old tires?..I have about 10. Jus lookn for a place to take em.

They don't take tires. I've hauled some to Wilson Tire but they charge anywhere from $1.25 to $7.50 each depending on size, and who you ask. Have also gone to the Joplin recycling center when they have free drop-off, usually in spring.

Does it cost anything to recycle things there

No, all free.

Do they give cash for metal? Or is just to recycle?

Nycole Lockwood | Nov 4, 2018
Elizabeth Bittick | Nov 4, 2018

No. This is to drop off materials for recycling, not buying scrap.

When is the next time I can take a broken microwave to the recycling center? Thanks!

Helen Lodge | Nov 4, 2018
Michael Sevley | Nov 4, 2018

You can take them anytime they will take your broken microwave in the Black Mac Roy trailers tossing in there

Do they expect brush

Faith Ann Marriott | Nov 4, 2018
Amanda Bruce | Nov 4, 2018

No. They take clean plastic, cardboard, glass, tin cans, aluminum foil, aluminum cans, paper, and egg cartons. Once or twice a year they do a big dump weekend were you can dispose of broken appliance and scrap.. However to answer your question further, if you live local you can haul yard waste like grass clippings and tree limbs etc to the City's compost site out on the end of Maple street by the public works building.
