My 13 year old Pug suddenly started having seizures on a Saturday and my regular vet office was closed, so my husband and I went to Premier. They took Bella immediately. Due to her age and the severity of her symptoms, and after a lengthy conversation with Dr. Pierson, we decided it was best to put her down. Dr. Pierson took the time to discuss our options with clarity and sincere empathy. He personally did the procedure and then sat with us while we held Bella to say goodbye. I have never experienced a vet with better bedside manner and compassion. He and the entire staff did everything they could to make the terrible loss of our beloved dog a little bit easier, and for that we are so very grateful.

We were referred to Premier Veterinary Group by my son's primary vet after their pup's health was deteriorating. First off I want to say for many who have complained about their service, this and any other vet who offers emergency services have to triage and see the most critical patients first. I have been on both ends of the waiting queue and when you're pup has to wait, it sucks. However, when you arrive and have a pup who has neurological involvement and can suddenly not walk, at 2 1/2 years old, you get jumped to the front of the line, for which I'm grateful. Our experience last night was fantastic, which is hard to say when the outcome wasn't what we'd hoped. The staff was attentive and compassionate. The vet talked through all possibilities and options, taking her time to answer all of our questions and being realistic with Griffin's situation. She worked up a plan that reflected our comfort at trying to give him a chance while understanding that his situation was really not optimistic. After my husband and son left they called very quickly with additional test results and then patiently took additional calls from us asking for more information and clarification on some things. About 8 hours after we brought him, left him, and the performed some additional tests and provided some treatment, we arrived back there to have our grandbaby euthanized. They had brought our son and daughter-in-law into a comfort room just prior to us getting there, Griffin was wheeled in and put into the floor by us. The comfort room has subdued lighting, comfortable furniture, a rug on the floor, and is the perfect setting to say goodbye to your furry loved one. We were told to take as much time as we wanted and to press a button on the table when we were ready for the vet to come in. We spent time loving on our pup, hugging and kissing him, reassuring him, and helping him to relax on top of his dad on the floor. When we were ready the vet came in and navigated around us and our baby, explaining what she was administering and when. Our baby Griffin passed peacefully surrounded by love and in the arms of his family in a very comfortable and peaceful setting. We were then given as much time as we needed, which gave us time to talk and tell stories and be with our boy until we were ready. We rang the bell again and they came back in, but let us leave before taking him out. Everyone was so kind, apologizing to us throughout for our loss and providing comfort during our hard time. I would absolutely go back to this place if I had an urgent medical situation with any of my pups, and I wish all vets offered this type of setting to say goodbye when your family has to make that tough decision. I have nothing but praise for this facility and all the people who work there.

Me and my wife went there because we were worried about our cat son if he had a uti or something worse, after waiting in the waiting area we were taken to our room and we were very scared it would be worse then we thought. Luckly the staff and the Dr. Who spoke with us ran the appropriate tests and everything was not nearly as bad as we thought, just a small uti. We were very thankful the staff and Dr. Was down to earth, as well as he wasn't pushing for the most expensive test just because.

I think it is corporate. The vet we had was really good and I felt blessed to have her. In the past, we have taken our animals to vets and they were not always good

Do they treat small animals like hamsters? Maybe I could speak with someone on the phone about the issue first?

No unfortunately they do not. However there are other places like midwest.

What can be done for my dog who looks like he's having an allergic reaction to something and you don't have money right now to pay a vet? Can a payment plan be arranged?

Micheline Terry | Nov 4, 2019
David Lyon | Nov 4, 2019

Check directly with the vet. As a non-vet, I have tried Benadryl. Again, this is just something I tried. No garauntee and do it at your own risk.

Hello Barbara - the ER fee is $155. That includes a full physical exam and the doctor's recommendation/treatment plan if necessary.

Are they only for emergencies? Do they take wellness pet visits? Are they recommended for a person with a new pet?

Charlie Jentole | Nov 4, 2018
Paula Kantor | Nov 4, 2018

They don't do wellness visits or vaccines. They are a 24hr emergency clinic, and if your vet can't get your pet in to be seen, then they may refer you here.
