I love this library and people that work here. I come here with my 6 year old daughter almost every week now and they always greet us with a smile on their face and kind words. Ladies that work in a kids' section are amazing.They always answer all the questions patiently and are really excited about seeing kids which my daughter loves. She wants to go to that library all the time and I always tell her that we will go once we finish all the books we borrowed. She reads like crazy because she wants to go back there. Love the approach.

There are no quiet rooms and sometimes there are people talking on the phone, which is a distraction if you’re trying to study, but the librarians don’t say anything. Another issue was the masks. I spent a full day at the library studying. I’d often bring a quick bite with me. A young, petite “Betty” patrolling the isle caught me slipping a bite and was very confrontational about mask wearing and stated I couldn’t eat there. Nobody was nearby but she broke the 6-feet social distancing rule as she approached me. Was she really concerned with COVID or she just wanted to feel empowering with her authority as a “librarian”? I saw other patrons and librarians walking about with food and drinks but she wouldn’t approach her fellow peers. I evaluated the context and observed that they were coming out the back and onto the floor with food. The double standard. I understand such concerns but approaching somebody in such a manner is really uncalled for, especially since it was an honest mistake on my part. Side note: You’d have to approach the entrance from the north side of the building to see the “no eating or drinking” sign. You would have to be actively looking for the signs within the library because they’re not posted in every area.
