Today November 1, 2022 I called Whitestone Fine Jewelry due to a purchase I made back in August 2021. I had purchased a 14K yellow gold lobster clasp for my fígaro bracelet due to my old one that had broken. I had to wait a week for it due to them not having it in stock. Once it came in they called me to pick up my purchase. At that time in August 2021 I was very happy with my purchase. Today (One year and almost three months later) I started to evaluate the lobster clasp and noticed a very strange silver color. When I called Whitestone fine jewelry I spoke to Robin Marlowe. I was asked to bring it in to look at the lobster clasp. Once they viewed it I was told that the lobster clasp was 10K and it was gold plated. I was baffled to hear this especially when I had my old receipt and it clearly stated 14K yellow gold. I asked Robin if the employee that ordered my lobster clasp was still working there. With an evil laugh she said no and said EMERALD CLAUSEN doesn’t work here anymore. I also asked if she was let go for doing something wrong and she laughed and said why would I ask that. I replied due to this situation I’m facing now. I’ve seen many commercials on TV regarding Whitestone fine jewelry and I truly believed it was a reputable jewelry store. This interaction that took place today for me made me feel very uncomfortable doing business with them again. I will state they did honor my old receipt and replaced the old lobster clasp with a 14K yellow gold one but I felt something very strange with Robin. Something just isn’t right here and how our conversation evolved. Having this lobster clasp for over a year and three months and believing it was 14K yellow gold just doesn’t sit well with me. It’s late today but I’m going to another jewelry store to make sure the lobster clasp is truly 14K yellow gold. Unfortunately this was my experience.
