At least this place offers help no matter what...

FOR BOTH THE WOMEN'S & MEN'S SIDE: The staff is not the problem here & seem to do their job VERY WELL!! 1) EXTREMELY OVERCROWDED!! Lots of ppl sleeping on floors & chairs 2) food is horrible MOST OF THE TIME but sometimes ok and seldom good 3) far too much theft occurring DAILY even with security & cameras 4) no children allowed due to violent & criminal environment. 5) DISEASE is not rampant but common -- airborne & other 6) shower water usually real warm but often cold 7) LOTS OF PPL WITH DANGEROUS OR JUST SERIOUS MENTAL PROBS 8) It is organized & well set up but not too well ran

My daughter is staying there. Staff is very helpful.

I too experienced being put out into the freezing cold and it was raining and I had just walked into the chapel and didn't even have enough time to find a seat and Ms. Wanda at the front desk came and told me since I was standing I could go outside. I tried to explain to her I had just walked in and she said she didn't care. So i was thrown out in the rain and it was 37 degrees outside. The majority of the staff are caring and compassionate but there are those who are miserable and we all know misery loves company!!
Because the security is to busy hassling the homeless that is trying to do right
U can tell the other response is a karm advocate.. cux nothing good about forcing probationary people in this drug infested environment.. not to mention the LICE.. its a sesspool
Yes karm is open 365 day's a year and every major hoilday.
Were is someone who has actually volunteered because from what i learned its not that easy as just show up and help
It's a homeless shelter, not a hotel. The location and other guests make it less than an ideal place for kids, and there are lots of other services for families with kids.
They look at the homeless as a pay check
If this option is still available I am a wonderful cook and great cleaner. We can do background check and drug screen if necessary.
It's what you make it. The meals are hit and miss. They serve 300 people. I been there for a while till I getting my housing straightened out. You have a place to stay. Till you get things done. There no time limit. Just stay out of the mix you be fine. Everybody gets a shower and a place to stay. You check in and out. It's an overnight shelter. Just stay to yourself and be fine to you get things straightened out
U need to post on the karms thrift store page and not the karms homeless shelter.. plz delete ur comment it takes away from the real questions needed on this page.
The churches that are affiliated with KARM are the best places to donate too. Donate to Care Cuts or Water Angels. They hand out food and clothes. Care Cuts is within walking distance of karm. The clothes that end up in the KARM store help fund the shelter, meals, and the salaries of the staff. But people really need to step up the donation of clothes for cold weather and tents and sleeping bags for the people who choose not to sleep inside of the shelter for whatever reason. We're all supposed to reach out and help those in need. God Bless anyone who does this, no matter how they choose to do so.
Please call karm!
Only if they are therapy dogs and you have to have the papers to prove it
Absolutely disgusting my friend was forced to stay there 1 night and got LICE in less than a 12hr stay. He said roaches were everywhere. Shower was disgusting.
Sexual offenders
David is his name
Men and Women do separate. They try to find a place for the mother and child to stay to gether
No. KARM Thrift Stores has a store there but they are not a shelter. KTS operates to generate operating revenue for the ministry, KTS doesn't provide services themselves.
All must work together for the glory of God once I met the man that tries to help an has compassion , I know hard times get you down I been there I live it each day it takes all working together have compassion for one another Jesus will never fell you 🙏 🙌
Yes please call them
Absolutely. They will gladly assist you with that.
Yes as long your able to take care of yourself
No typically the men are housed separately. But if you're in a shelter you can go to the VMC for assistance with housing.
Go to Knox Area Rescue or The Salvation Army across the street from KARM. They will help u.
I need a position to sleep well too. I don't have a place just outreaching in knoxville. If I can help I will
Is it appropriate no is it illegal no.. so there you go
Call them
Go to any small town church and get help
That I'm not sure of. I know they focus on physical and spiritual welfare.
The Greyhound bus station is right around the corner from Karm
I don't work at Karm, but I know that socks and basic hygiene items are what is always needed.
Well she was there at 8:30 am and was told to come back at 3:30 and then was told they were closed
This place sounds like a living hell.
They're right about the time
6:30-7:30 lunch 11:30-12:45 dinner 4:30-6:00. You get a temporary card at the front desk then you have to get a mission ID in the outside courtyard @ Cross roads office in the back
they have a shelter specifically for women and kids you have to call them and ask them specifically or possibly even go there like tonight or something that the talk to them about where it's at don't let just people to come in randomly know where it's at you know just tell him about you
They do serve lunch on sunday
Robert Brook's previous answer is CORRECT.
Its a place to sleep nightly, store 1-2bags with "some" security & get in touch with resources out of homelessness. Curfew is 6pm nightly unless ur working. Good luck n God bless.
The ministry has been around for nearly 60 years.
Park under the bridge
They have a separate ward there for family in NEED
I was told u couldn't volunteer without taking a class firsy
Yes. KARM will bring the homeless in and feed them three times daily as well as give them a bed every night. KARM will also interview the guest and help place them in a program that can help them out of their homelessness.
Karm is fake Christian.
