Is it overcrowded on the weekends? Wanna take my family there but not if it's packed with wall to wall rude/ignorant people

Just got home from a week long stay up there. It definitely gets packed on the weekends and they've been closing the park due to being full. Didn't run into any rude people and kids had a blast and made friends on the beach. Overall it was a nice lake/park. Would definitely go back
