I'm not sure that our situations are exactly similar, but thought I'd share my experience getting married in another country. My husband and I are both US citizens living in Michigan. We were married in a legal ceremony in Mexico in 2011. I thought I might have to "register" our marriage somehow here at home, but nothing in my research indicated that. I was able to change my name with my Mexican marriage certificate (with translation) at the Social Security office. Both our employers accepted it to make changes to our benefits. Hopefully this is helpful to you or someone else.

Unfortunately not. They have a list with both the police (who you check in with), and the actual office. You have to adhere to your scheduled date and time. If your name is not on the list, they will turn you away because they normally are booked. My documents expired also. I had to contact the company to see if they can send me new forms with a later expiration date than my appt.

If you trying to get a certificate to get married you must have ID and birth certificates for both persons. It must be used in 30 days. Try to get early morning appt. They only have 6 seats outside the door. You still might have to sit a while.

Call and ask how you should proceer or If you have fathers information without them being listed on the birth certificate just fill it out from what you were told about fathers name and other information or put unknown. I would call to ask though to be sure and not waste time.

Marriage licenses are by appointment only at the Wayne County Clerk's office in the Coleman Young building downtown. I picked mine up last month.

I just got married this month so the info is relevant. You have to go to the website and fill out some forms, then you will get a code, use this code to schedule an appointment. (Also on the website) After all that you will able to go on your scheduled date. Just make sure to bring IDs and birth certificates.

You have to make a appointment first. Then they will rearrange it for a earlier date most likely. My appointment was made August 10th and was scheduled for January 20th. It was rescheduled 2 weeks ago for November 11th.

I had trouble reaching them if your having trouble getting in contact regarding a CPL application status i advise reaching out to michigan state police CPL division to have them message the county clerk to give you a call back if its been past the 45 days + Mailing time. I got a call back within a day of talking to michigan state police.

If you're filing for Wayne County then go to the website. https://www.waynecounty.com/elected/clerk/marriage-licenses.aspx From there you'll see a link for the application, which you'll fill out and receive a pin number for (you'll need the pin later so don't forget it). You will need to email your name, pin, marriage date, and application to two different clerks. The site will provide their emails once everything is filled out. From there someone from the office will get back to you with an appointment time, for you to go to the clerks office and get your license. Hope this helps :)

I went for my CPL Renewal. I had to make an appointment. I don't know if any of the other businesses are open and/or taking appointment sonly. The building was VERY desolate when I went 😔. Good Luck too you. 😊

Go to room LL-61 in the basement and give then both parties names and the approximate year of divorce and they will conduct a search. Having the correct names are more important than days and months, a correct year is also more helpful.

From an Office Supply Store. There is one in the lower level of the Penobscot Bldg. that sells a great kit. The forms are carbon so you dont have to make copies and they don't need to be notarized. They have kits for divorces w/ or w/o kids, cost depends on that. $20-$30 dollars.
