I called D&L last weekend to discuss a warranty claim on faulty tint. I was told I had to “start over” (pay to re tint) because their supplier went out of business. I was pretty confused and annoyed, so I gathered my thoughts and wrote them the following email to which I have not received a response. Stay away from D&L! Hello, My vehicle was tinted at your shop on 8/2/2004, invoice# 23592. At that time the lifetime warranty was purchased for an additional $49.95. The car is a spare car that doesn’t get driven often, and the tint has been bubbling for years, but I finally got around to calling in today to have it inspected and move forward with a re tint. I was surprised to be told over the phone that my warranty was no good and that I’d have to “start over”. I was told the film company went out of business. I’m surprised because I have all of the paperwork in front of me where the pamphlet says D&L Professional Window Tinting Warranty Information. Additionally, the invoice has handwritten “warranty” for $49.95. Please help me understand why you are not willing to stand behind a product YOU carry/carried? The reality is if FTI went out of business and you can’t bill them to redo my car, it would be a minor expense to do the right thing to eat the nominal cost of the film and labor and re tint my car. Took my challenger in to get tinted and it took less then an hour. Owner and employees are super nice and gave me some recommendations on what to do to make the car look even nicer!
