Such a great location. Anywhere you sit is going to be an awesome view. Obviously, if you have never had Ivar's you have to go. The fish and chips and all the seafood, shrimp, clams, halibut, cod tastes amazing. Hands down, the clam chowder is the very best.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon. The location is great but that’s the main positive for this place. The fish and clams were pretty good, but most of the fries were cold! — like almost-frozen type of cold! It was so unappetizing eating anything else after encountering the cold fries. It seems like they had taken them out of the freezer and barely heated them up. Not what I expect for those prices; honestly, I’d be upset even at a cheap fast food restaurant to receive that. The people I was with said it happened to them previously as well, so it was not just a fluke incident. Meanwhile, the place is understaffed; every single table was dirty and we cleaned one ourselves to sit down at it. And the ice machine was only intermittently working.

Came here on Friday afternoon lunch while visiting Renton. It was half full from about the 10 tables outside on the pier and tables on the inside. Walked in and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Wanted to try the traditional fish and chips, so ordered the Alaska True Cod, but also tried the Wild Alaska Halibut Fish and Chips. For the sides, ordered the Clam Chowder and Cole Slaw. Within 10 minutes, they brought the order to the table. There were nice thick cuts of Cod and Halibut. Asked for some malt vinegar as I don't like for tartar sauce or anything else to take away from the flavor of the fish. The fish was very fresh and flaky on the inside with a nice fried crisp on the outside. The chowder thick, creamy, and also had nice chunks of clam. It was a little too cold to eat outside, but the inside still provide a nice view of the water. After the meal, it was a nice walk around the boardwalk right around the restaurant. I can imagine how nice it is to sit outside and enjoy your meal. This place had good quality seafood without paying the high restaurant prices.

Great spot for an affordable lakefront lunch- Highly recommend the original fish and chips, jumbo or baby prawns, coleslaw and original clam chowder as a go to for a delicious and cheap meal with family or friends. Halibut and chips are good but a bit pricey, and the salmon and chips are a bit too dry for my liking. Service is pretty prompt and the view is especially amazing- Attached is the photo of our view while me and my family ate. Highly recommend!

Exactly what JoelCR said. GOOD NEWS. .all the food that comes from there is delicious reheated. Pro tip- don't microwave for very long. A little at a time. BTW If she likes chowder...get a tanker ;)
Yes, the one at Gene Coulon is still open with the construction.
At this location, they don't have a grill, so most everything is fried. We do have shrimp or crab cocktails, and shrimp or crab Ceasar salads.
