"...As we made clear in February, REI will not participate in any OR trade show in the state so long as Utah’s leaders persist in attacking our public lands and the laws that protect them. We remain committed to our employees, members, vendors and communities in the state,” I am going to call BS on this. The state of Utah would welcome these companies who are boycotting the outdoor gear convention a seat at the table to discuss the situation instead these companies throw their temper tantrums and try to blackmail states to doing it their way or no way. Have they actually done their research on the amount of public land in Utah? Under funded national parks, beautiful state parks and national forests? Not to mention under funded National Monuments? The federal government owns approximately 66% of Utah's public lands. That doesn't include state owned public lands. We have been REI members for 30+ years and love the outdoors, hiking, running, skiing, snowmobiling etc. but perhaps it's time to start boycotting these companies who feel compelled to wage a war based upon a false narrative. REI, go ahead and boycott. This will give new outdoor gear makers the opportunity to showcase product that just might be better and we'll gladly give those people a chance. Utahans love their state, appreciate their state and all that it offers. Utahans also appreciate and respect Native American people and lands.

I ordered and expected a new and unused tent online from REI and received the correct item number, but the item I received has been used by a previous customer already. The evidence for this is pine pitch on the tent's footprint, dirty paper towels inside, and dirt & moss inside the tent. See attached photos. I warn any customer to be extremely careful regarding REI's quality control. This tent and it's soiled things in it could have any sort of pathogens on it like COVID-19 making me afraid for my health. I will be submitting my complaint directly to the REI headquarters in Sumner, Washington that shipped it. I will update this review as new information comes in. :(

Placed an online order on 4/30/2018. REI over charged my credit card $1,000 in addition to the original $400 purchase. As of 4pm on 5/2/18 they still have no explanation for me and have not put the money back in my account. This has caused many problems for me and my bank account. REI has not offered any assistance. Customer service sucks and I will never purchase from REI again. Beware of online purchases and them double or triple billing your account and taking days or weeks to fix it.

I have never stepped foot into an REI before in my life. That being said, there was a charge on my credit card from a STORE in CALIFORNIA that I did not make. Oh and heaven forbid we put in the CVV number on the back of the card reserved for this very issue. Now I called their credit card services department and spoke with a WONDERFUL employee named Devin. He was great and extremely helpful. However, due to their whatever, they are unable to refund MY credit card the transaction because someone in THEIR store typed in the credit card number wrong. Now I am out my credit card which is reserved for emergencies and am inconvenienced by having to call up my credit card company to tell them. That I have already contacted the retailer, the retailer assures me that it was not my purchase. Because I am sitting here in Washington state and the expiration date doesn't match nor does the address of the shipped purchase. I realize human error occurs. Maybe one should rethink the policy if someone can verify everything on your system is incorrect, that the person who has done nothing wrong shouldn't be punished for someone else's mistake. I will not be shopping with this company ever.

Questions & Answers

This is NOT a retail location. Do not go to 6750 for retail needs, it is a corporate building ONLY.

We are probably not the people you should be asking, also the headquarters is mostly for employees. Try the website?
