Grievances on behalf of the Kahlel Young family Sat, Aug 6, 2022 8:08 pm We suffered the tremendous loss of our beloved grandson at only 22 years old. He deserved a funeral service of dignity and did not receive that from Mountain View funeral homes. Right away at his viewing loved ones realized the mismanagement of Mountain View because it took over 1 hour after the start of our grandsons viewing to get a guest book out for loved ones to sign meantime people had already left. Secondly we paid for our grandson balance in full (cash) that Saturday (at the conclusion of his viewing). However, our son who was grieving the unexpected loss of his son was still contacted by a Mountain View representative requesting payment or his cremation would not be done. After a lengthy game of phone tag and speaking to several representatives we found out Mountain View had inadvertently applied our grandsons payment to another deceased persons account. This added a great deal of unnecessary stress and frustration not to mention an unsettling feeling that our grandson was not being cared for (this correction took several days and still reflected a balance owing and delayed his cremation). One of the Many errors and final insult by Mountain View was the fact they delivered our grandson late to the church where his funeral was to take place. It is safe to say we do not recommend using Mountain View funeral homes for any service.

The people at Mountain View funeral home, are without a doubt the best people to help you through your grieving process. Bob was just so amazing helping us, and being there for us when our loved one passed, he made the process so easy for us. Thank you so much for everything! We cannot stress how much it meant to us to have this process be about the love, and less about the "process."

We went through Mountain View for my brother’s interment service and had the pleasure of working with Neil Beck. Let me tell you about Neil. He is attentive, detailed, present, and amazing with his response time. He fully connected with us and our needs in a time of such grief that his presence was a great comfort to our family. I wish everyone who worked in this industry had the same heart as Neil Beck. He shared moments of his personal loss with us and although he may not realize it, was very endearing to me because outside of all these roles we play in life, we are all human and experiencing raw emotions that can sometimes make us feel very alone when we’re not. We went with Edward’s Memorial for my brother’s funeral services and had such a dissimilar experience, which I will also leave a review on, that only made our family even more appreciative of Neil, as a person, not just his role in his industry. Neil Beck sets the bar high for everyone who is in this industry. It’s such an important role to have when guiding families though grief to arrange the last celebration of their loved ones; a service for the living. Neil IS the standard that everyone in this business should strive to. It really felt like we were meeting with an old friend. I will look for him again when we need his services, because we will. Thank you, Neil. ♥️

We will never again use, or refer anyone to Mountain View Funeral Home. My mother-in-law passed away on 11/6/21 in Mesa, Arizona. We were able to get all the arrangements to get her body prepared to fly to Tacoma for the services. My in-laws had purchased plots at Mountain View in 1958, however, when we contacted Mountain View we were told we could not speak to a director to get arrangements made until 11/11/21. We have families that need to make arrangements to attend the services , including my 90 year old father-in-law, but are on hold because of Mountain View and the fact that we have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to schedule services. If my in-laws hadn't purchased plots at Mountain View, we would definitely be looking at other Funeral Homes.

The aspen chapel is located to the left side of the cemetery at the Celebration of life center.
The main office has park maps available for anyone who wants/needs one, otherwise baby land can be found by taking the first left after entering the park, baby land will be on the right side, you'll know you are in the right place when you see a statue of a small child with a lamb in the middle of the grass. Also you may see many toys on the headstones in that area.
The Main office by the entrance of the park has many friendly staff that would happily help you locate your loved ones, you can either walk in or call.
Yon's Flower is located at 8711 South Tacoma Way in the South Tacoma Plaza. I haven't been inside yet but I do believe this is the closest floral shop to Mountain View. Hope this helps! 🌼
Don't know for sure
Yes
I'm not sure, who you're looking for?
Depends on the composition and quality you want.
Yes. Call the office. Sorry I do not have the phone number handy.
I would talk to Neil Beck if I were you. He is very good about helping people with these decisions. He's helping me with my headstone and bench. Very kind man and very professional.
Contact the funeral home and someone in the office should be able to help with finding the placements there
