I needed an outdoor memorial bench at a local state park here in Michigan. The park manager recommended Pilot Rock because of his experience with PR's quality and customer service. The bench is an incredible design for the out of doors... galvanized stands, UV treated trex type plastic boards, and an integrated plaque that's a uv treated acrylic laminate and installs in a custom milled insert in the top rail. Very attractive in a natural setting. All of this means I can go enjoy this bench in the future and not have a worry about maintenance. The plaque service is very well thought out in terms of product design and process. You can create a graphic file with elements and send it to PR. They have graphic designers review it and set the graphic so it fits, they sent a file back to me to verify. The process allows multiple cycles to get it right. My bench has a beautiful integrated graphic and text on it. Now when I look at other brand benches, those plaques have a "nailed on" look and I can't imagine them lasting. Ordering, customer service and communication... all great throughout the order through delivery to the park. They also support their products after installation. There was a minor problem with it, it was not really clear if it was manufacturing or installation related.. they worked with me to understand what was going and sent new parts to the park - no charge. It says a lot about the customer service back bone of this company. Prior to this, my experience with park benches was sitting down 😉. They've thought through that customers like me don't understand product trade offs and the reasons for them. They listen and will suggest things which really helps.

The staff were great. Friendly and helpful. From the time we checked in to getting loaded with our products it was 10 minutes. A wonderful experience. The fire ring is perfect. Sturdy and well made. Just like at a state park. I highly recommend RJ Thomas Mfg.
