Delighted this place has re-opened! 5 Spot was one of my favorite spots for both brunch and late-night drinks before they closed due to the pandemic. They've been reopened for less than a week as I write this, but they're just as good as I remember and I hope to see their rotating regional menu back in action soon.

Clever purveyor of alternating regional cuisines every few months. It's been a few years and I haven't noticed a repeat. More starches than I'd like to eat on their entrees, but never distracted by poor cooking - reliable and fresh options, I guess! Service is quite good too. Update: After closing a couple of years ago, 5Spot recently reopened. Still recognized the old place, but some updating and definitely some polishing! The murals were gone but the art was now on canvas and nicely done. The Chicken Fried Steak wasn't available, but the Eggs Benedict was tasty, with poached eggs made to my liking and extended nicely with smoked salmon and asparagus. I didn't have to ask for the hash browns extra crispy. Mimosas were $5 with the entrée. My wife really liked her blueberry pancakes with the good syrup. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, we like it alot and glad to have them back up and running. We'll be back!

Pretty solid chicken and waffle going on. This restaurant changes themes every so often. It's a pretty good greasy spoon type place. Food is good and service is fast. They serve breakfast until 3 so it's a great place for brunch any day of the week.

Located at the top of Queen Anne on the South Side. Large restaurant and bar. The owner is obviously a Chicago guy or gal. It's decked out in windy city paraphernalia. They're open late, my wife and stopped in on a Tuesday around 930pm. I had the 3 egg breakfast with a sausage patty, toast and red potatoes. All was really good except the potatoes were served in really large chunks. My wife had the soup/salad combo. A nice salad, clam chowder with bread and butter. (See pics) really good. It was quiet but I suspect this place gets jumping on the weekend. Street parking only. Nice people, clean restaurant and plenty to look at. We'll be back. I give 5 Spot 4.25 Stars.

I think they wanted to focus on breakfast and lunch. Fewer meal plans, focus on fewer ingredients. Also, finding servers and cooks is becoming quite the problem. These are just guesses.
Nothing special!
