On a clear, cool day with the mist rolling in, you can stand on the cart paths, greens and fairways and hear the sound of "fore" and shotgun starts. Seriously, it is a golf course with added signage for a battle that happened mainly a couple of miles away. But none of that land was available for purchase since the armies mistakenly fought on the edge of town. This land was available since the golf course closed and fanatics will believe anything if you put up interpretive signage. The old plantation house and cemetery are real, the rest of it can be skipped. Go to Shiloh or Chattanooga area battlefields for the real stuff.
