Public Service Warning: This office is useless. Anyone with a issue with a insurance company, to wit: home or auto. Just file your lawsuits and let a jury award you your damages. These people are absolutely useless. Once you get your judgment, then file a lien against the person or partys, with the court clerk and execute the judgment and collect your money. All insurance company #1 job is to defend their insured and pay as little as they can. The Hell with this. Your property is damaged and file your action and let a jury award you the amount you deserve. Contacting this office for assistance is useless, and a waste of time. They have no civil jurisdiction to intervene. So, why are we the tax payers, even paying for this office and staff? What is the purpose of this useless office and staff?

This Agency claims to "investigate" complaints regarding Insurance companies. However, I filed a complaint about a claim with my insurance company. The only thing the "investigator" did for me was moderate communication between myself and my insurance company. She did not investigate anything and she did not require the insurance company to provide evidence. I actually presented written evidence in support of my assertion. After each side presented their position, she emailed me that she closed the file as she was done moderating the communication. Don't waste your time. I found this process totally useless. She did not help me in any way or come to any conclusion about the insurance company actions

My husband passed on a motorcycle and Athene (at the time) was giving me a hard time paying his life insurance. It went on several months after his passing until I contacted TN Department of Commerce and insurance. Within a week of doing so, they finally issued payment. They are not only professional, but are also empathetic and sincere in helping people with difficulties concerning insurance. Thank you!
