Yes you will have to retake the practical exam.
Once a license is expired it is no longer valid. However, it can still be renewed with a late fee so long as it has not been expired for 3 years or longer. Please see: https://tdcihelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/208988668
From what I was told the answer is no! I could also be wrong. I do remember the educators talking about this while I was in school
In most cases, you can print a standard copy of your license in CORE by signing in and navigating to the Quick Start Menu. Under “Manage Your License Information” select “Print License Certificate” in the drop-down menu. The license self-print feature is not currently available for every profession.

If the license is expired for less than 3 years you will need to pay the renewal fee and the late fee. If it has been expired for 3 years or more, you will need to apply like a new license. Call the tennessee State board of cosmetology. We have Reciprocity. You can go to TN.gov and look under Cosmetolgy And Barber. Then go to the search bar and type in reciprocity. I was able to look it up, and there is a link that says "view ferocity instructions". Hope this helps.
Apply for reciprocity. The requirements from Louisiana should match Tennessee requirements. If not you may have to take additional hours to be licensed here. It varies
I went through a terrible breakdown upon losing my husband September 2018. During that time I failed to remember to attend the classes for my instructor license. I’m well and ready to teach. Please inform me what I need to do in order to renew my instructor license.
