Very beautiful little place. The wine was great, and I loved that they had low sulfates. I would definitely recommend doing the tasting to try them all.

My husband and I visited Penn Oaks yesterday. We live just south of it and had driven by often. Since Christmas is next week, and their website said that they had German wines, we decided to check it out. Our daughter loves sweet German wines. We tasted all of their wines, and they were all good. I’m not a wine connoisseur by any means, but I liked all of the wines that they offered. I was impressed by how closely each wine description matched its taste. Sometimes, descriptions have no basis in reality - “hints of floral, chocolate, smoke - blah blah blah.” We ended up buying two bottles of their sweeter wines and a bottle of rose. The winery is just getting established, but the wines that they offer, in my opinion, are very good. The person who helped us was polite and well-versed in wine speak. It was a blustery freezing day, so there was just one other couple tasting at the time of our visit. The facility is roomy, however, so even if there had been more people, it wouldn’t have been crowded. (The facility is rentable for special occasions.) I would like to see this winery succeed, as I would love to have vineyards surrounding me - especially those that produce German wines. There are lots of breweries in my area, but not wineries. I’ll definitely return on a warmer day! (Dogs may accompany visitors, but must stay outside on the porch.) I recommend a visit.

This is a winery with beautiful tasting room, nice friendly atmosphere and fine wines. The owner is the wine maker providing fine variety of both red and white wines both dry and white. So, you can find whatever you like at very reasonable price. The manager Maura is very friendly and explained patiently the different variety of wines to us. The atmosphere is excellent and I highly recommend to family as there are ample space both indoor and outdoor to enjoy. They also follow COVID protocol which is important. I recommend you visiting the place and experience it first hand. Thank you Maura and the team for good work you are doing!

Excellent. We found several wines we liked, which was a pleasant surprise. It’s a beautiful spot with peaceful views of the vineyards and fields. Our hosts were knowledgeable and kind. Their prices are reasonable, especially compared to so many other wineries near DC that don’t have the quality of this place.

No reservation needed. Please come by and enjoy the wine and the space.

Why is there a sign for this winery off of Rte 97 in Cookeville? I can't see anything and there's no web presence?

Thanks for asking. We operate a small family owned winery on 37 acres at this location. We are open on Sundays 12 noon to 6 pm for wine tasting and sales.
