Got a tour years ago with my cub scout pack, got to board the melon cutter and a few smaller skifs. Got to tour the main HQ room with all the computers and the coast guard members were very informative and cool. Also got to pose with a .50 cal deck mounted gun. Such an awesome experience.

Received courteous care. Biggest problem is a lack of parking.

Terrible barbershop on the base. The lady does a terrible job of cleaning up the hair around your neck and it all gets in your shirt. I go to the bathroom and went through my hair with my hand and the loose hair keeps coming out nonstop. Not even worth paying $10 for.

Is there base housing for enlisted Seaman or do they have to find off-base housing? Thank you, kindly.

No on base housing. You will have to live out on the community.

Is there general parking?

Parking is reserved for active duty coast guard until 1600 on work days. There is parking by the gym for anyone with base access outside of those reserved hours.

Can you recommend a good source for our nonprofit to purchase about a dozen PFD's for the kids we serve?

The best place to get them would be on Amazon just make sure that they have Coast Guard Approved on the label it should be down in the description. And I've also seen some pretty good inexpensive ones at Dicks sporting goods and Big 5, and maybe Sierra trading post. ... You might be able to work out a sponsorship or donation as well. Good luck

My husband just passed away. He was coast guard. I am wondering if you could use his clothing?

Thanks so much for the thought! Uniforms that are still in use can be donated to the Seattle Lucky Bag Locker or the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Here's the Auxiliary contact info. http://wow.uscgaux.info/about.php?unit=130-02 Older uniforms could possibly be donated to the Coast Guard Museum. http://www.rexmwess.com/cgpatchs/cogardmuseum.html
