We scheduled two appointments and were greeted with this note on the passport office door. Two needless trips to the USPS. Notification service for appointments being cancelled Unacceptable customer service for a major market like Columbus.

Contrary to the website, appointments are required. Also, they will not assist with renewals of passports in any manner. I was told I had to complete the passport renewal process online and by mail. When I asked if they could help me with taking the photos to submit for my renewal, they said no, I need to go to a Walgreens or CVS for that service. Granted, they had a photo station right there, as they advertise providing passport photo services. Additionally, not a single other customer was in the building. It was not a matter of being busy. This is not a one stop shop for passport service as they claim, nor are the employees willing to make an effort to help people.

Yes, it is open by Appointment only. You can try making an appointment online. I had to physically go there because it would not let me schedule it online in my mobile device. I did not call unfortunately. Usps.com
You will need the Father's ID or an endorsement from him. You cant do it alone.
