I'd like to hear an explanation for why an employee of the Hendersonville County Sheriff's Department is allowed to fly the so called "Blue Lives Matter" flag outside his house on 5th Avenue with his police car sitting in the driveway. Everybody knows this flag, whatever the original motivation for it might have been, is now part of the racist far right Christian Nationalist movement. The officer might as well be flying a Confederate flag with it. There were plenty of Blue Lives Matter and Confederate flags among the insurrectionists at the Capitol on January 6. What kind of message does that send to the community and to tourists who can't miss it when they drive to Jump Off Rock from downtown?

North Carolina civil paper service fees are $30. Out of state papers are $90. Thank you!
Concealed Handgun Permits must be renewed every five (5) years. The Sheriff’s Office sends out a ‘Notice of Concealed Handgun Permit Renewal’ to permit holders, but CCW holders are encouraged to maintain an awareness of when their permit is up for renewal and take appropriate action. Permit renewals must be applied for no less than forty-five (45) days prior to the permit expiration date. As a service to permit holders, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office sends out renewal notice letters ninety (90) days in advance of expiration date. Tips to ensure your permit will not expire: Carefully read the renewal letter and go on-line NO LESS than forty-five (45) days before the permit is set to expire. If you have moved, you will need to update your address with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) AND complete a change of address with the Sheriff’s Office by calling (828) 694-3156 BEFORE it is time to renew your Concealed Handgun Permit.
Inmate visits are only on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. Inmates whose last names begin with the letters a through M are on Saturdays and inmates whose last names begin with the letters n through Z are on Sundays.
Go to the jail and hope they are not in a bad mood
Call the non-emergency number for dispatch or the sheriff's office, and tell them. When an officer can get to it, they can come and check it out. If it's on your property, the officer should be able to give you further directions once he gets the initial investigating done.
