I have been golfing here for over two years and have always enjoyed it. That being said I just finished one of the worst experiences I’ve had golfing. The starting ranger set us off, we had 6 people and told us to have a good round. 3 holes in he chases us down and says we can’t do that because we’re playing too slow due to a tournament happening after us. I understand 6 people is a lot but he didn’t notice the groups in front of us playing slow and we were just keeping pace. We split up just to follow direction. On hole 9, the first tournament group behind us hit their ball into our fairway and ended up wanting to play that ball 10 feet from our ball on the same fairway. The ranger drove up and had a full blown loud friendly conversation with them while we were trying to make our shots totally ignorant and disrespectful of the players actually on the right fairway. Later in the back nine we joined back with our group since play was so slow. Immediately another worker came up saying how they’ve told us once to split up. We tried to discuss how play is slow and that it doesn’t affect anything. He acknowledged we were right but the tournament players behind us kept bothering him about us playing 6 he didn’t want to make them mad. Drove off with an attitude and totally unreasonable. It’ll be a while before I ever want to play here again. If there’s a tournament going on, don’t bother playing that day because they won’t care about the other paying customers.

Edit: They have reopened and the course is in tip top shape. I will say the front 9 which took the brunt of the tornado feel bare and open due to all the tree that were knocked down but the back 9 are seriously beautiful, especially 10, 11, and 12. One of the more interesting places to play in the savannah area. Its cheap and fun... so get after it. Really fun place to play, hope they open up soon again after that tornado hit.
