This is probably the 5th year we have returned to the Islander. The rooms have always been clean, the staff is courteous, the facilities are clean and in good repair, and it offers a free breakfast. The beach is wide and flat. This year they have begun renovating the rooms. We stayed on one of the renovated rooms, and have not been disappointed. It is about an hour from Myrtle Beach, close enough for a day trip. And it costs approximately $150 less per night than an equivalent room in MB.

Fantastic location on the beach. We had a good stay there last weekend - my kids loved that they had an indoor and an outdoor pool. We couldn’t hear our neighbors which was great. The only downside is that the beds felt more like full size than queen, so sleeping was a bit snug. The hotel is undergoing renovations (which we expected) and the rooms look nice, I’m excited to see what they look like when they’re all done.

Nice, clean, not too fancy ocean front room. Parking is very close and convenient. Bed was very comfortable. Only complaint is water pressure in the shower needed to be higher. Kinda like showering in a warm light rain. We will definitely be back!

The room was great and the front desk people were amazing. Don't stay here if you want peace and quiet though. The walls are quite literally paper thin, and unfortunately many mornings the room cleaners would go to the rooms around 7:30-8am and be blasting music and yelling at each other. It wouldn't be a problem if the walls weren't so thin here. The breakfast is also mediocre and they had the same gross food every morning with no new options available. Definitely not a "deluxe" breakfast like they advertise.
