I got a kitten from petsense in Lagrange. These cats are supplied by the Lagrange Humane Society. He had a slight sniffle but nothing uncommon with kittens. The employee assured me that it was common for them to receive kittens with colds and to grab some goats milk. I got him on June 17 and by the 22 the baby kitten was dead on my couch. I spoke to a manager at the humane society and was told that they never give sick cats to petsense and then questioned “ why would you even get that cat if you knew it was sick”. The better question is why is the professionalism of your employees so bad? Why does the humane society give sick kittens and receives money from it? How can your “supervisor” lack human compassion for someone’s kids who had to find a stiff cat on their sofa? The staff was completely heart less and unprofessional. I never even received his papers yet because it had only been 5 days since grabbing him but my money could not be given back to me. This is wrong and cruel.

Mostly pitbulls. Small facility, but I wish they didn't chip all the animals. I think they did well for the size space they have. They really care about the dogs left there.

My fiance and I paid a visit to the dog pound, feel in love with a beautiful blue coat pitbull, but can't adopt him at this time.

I just found your question.l will invest and see what l can find out
We do not have a veterinarian on premise here to do spay or neuter surgeries, you will need to take your pet to a licensed veterinarian for that. Thanks!
Unfortunately, we cannot take animals directly from the public as we are contracted to pull all of our dogs from the City of LaGrange Animal Shelter. If you live within the limits of the city of LaGrange you can contact contact the City of Lagrange animal services at (706) 2983-606 and if you live in the county you can reach out to the Troup County Marshals at (706) 883-1627. Thanks so much for reaching out !
Hi Koesha!! Unfortunately, we do not have a foster to adopt program at this time. You are welcome to come and meet any of our furbabies and play with them to see if you have that special bond!
Hi Gordon, Unfortunately, we are not currently set up to house cats, only dogs. If you live in Troup County, please call the City of LaGrange Animal Services at (706) 298-3606 for any cat related inquiries. If you live outside of Troup County, please contact your local Animal Control office. We hope this helps!
Hi Kameryn! Thanks for your interest!! Unfortunately, no, a 15 year old would not be allowed to volunteer in the building. Due to our insurance requirements you would have to be 16 with a parent present to volunteer or 18 years to volunteer by yourself.
As far as I know there isnt but that's a really good question. Nobody thinks about that. People do struggle and you shouldn't have to give up your pet unless it's so bad their health is effected.
I do believe they are a no kill but it would be easier to call and ask
Unfortunately, we are not currently set up to house birds. We would suggest checking with the Gabriel Foundation or PetSense. Good luck finding your feathered friend!
Our standard adoption fee is $75.00. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and have been started on heart worm as well as flea & tick preventative.
Hi Robert, We do not put down animals here at the Humane Society, you will need to take your pet to a veterinarian for that. Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.
The LaGrange Troup County Humane Society is currently a dog only organization, but the Cit of LaGrange Animal Services does have kittens for adoption, You can reach them at (706) 298-3606.
