After having 6 previous surgeries. I was told never let anyone do another else to my knee. I met with Dr. Del Gaizo, and I wasn't really expecting anything but hoping for something. When he explained my options I asked, " if I was your wife, sister or mom what would you advise?" He said, " total knee replacement" 6/2019, best decision ever. I had so much relief, I was walking good. 9/2019 my back was bothering me, not a new condition I have been bothered with my L4/L5 but it was hurting so 10/31)2019 I underwent back surgery, and this stopped me from continuing with PT for my knee. I have built up scar tissue, stiff, swollen. Dr. Del Gaizo left UNC Chapel Hill, and I went and saw his replacement and he said nothing can be done. I drove from NC to SC to see Dr. Del Gaizo last year and he was going to do a revision on my knee. My heart Dr and pulmonary Dr. wouldn't sign off on it because of COVID-19 and it's out of State. So I DON'T AGREE with anyone saying Dr. Del Gaizo is not a good Dr. he is good and very passionate.
