I have lived at MAA Barrett Creek for almost 3 years now and it has been a great experience so far. Maintenance does their job the best they can and are super nice. The community spaces are usually kept pretty clean. Neighbors are also usually nice and helpful. Everyone in the office are great and have answered all of my questions without an issue. I've only ever had small issues here, like people parking in front of my garage, people being a bit too loud in the pool at night, etc. But that seems like very normal apartment-complex living issues. The staff here do everything they can to keep you happy and it's appreciated. Rent is starting to get a little high, but it has kept its value for what you get here. As long as you pay your rent on time, you won't have any issues here.

Two months ago I move into the property and the staff has been helpful, friendly and very professional. The property is always kept clean and well manicured. It’s quiet here and the location is close to highways, lots of eateries and stores I shop often. I’ve enjoyed living here so far and look forward to enjoying the same positive experiences I had so far.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! 1. Lizards found some way to enter inside of my apartments and pest control informed me that him and other MAA staff members were discussing that they didn't believe me because lizards were currently "hibernating". I was able to catch one and show property management since they didn't believe me. 2. There is only ONE garbage dumpster on site for a property that has 100+ people living there which leads to the dumpster being overfilled. 3. They force you to use Xfinity because they have some type of back deal contractual agreement and we are automatically charged for Xfinity although Xfinity's wifi is extremely unreliable. If you Work From Home, this may become an issue! 4. When you move out and need rental verification proving that you stayed there, they will not provide verification which will make it difficult to get approved for any other apartment moving forward. Good luck finding somewhere else to stay once you move out since MAA won't verify your rental history. 5. Before I signed my lease, I was told that I could move in on a specific date but when I was provided with my lease to sign, a different move-in date was provided and the only thing they did was "apologize" for the incorrect information that one of their staff members provided me. 6. When you first move in, they ask that you leave a review which is why you see so many 5 star reviews on here. The 5 star reviews are mostly from people that have not received the full disappointing MAA experience yet. 7. If you have kids that ride the school bus, please know that they will have to walk up a hill (with cars driving up and down at various speeds) with no dedicated sidewalk.

So this is my 8th month update , I will start off with saying everything felt perfect about this complex -in the beginning but now with time , experience and life ,my feelings have shifted. The reality of it all is this is just another complex that cares nothing of the people who are renting ,it’s fee driven. In all actuality it’s not the complex employees fault they don’t know any better they just need a job ,but more so the corporation that they work for which ultimately falls back on them. Georgia laws were changed to where they have given the option to charge any fee after the 1st of the month considered “LATE FEE “. Giving that option sadly here they don’t give you ANY grace period to pay rent before charging you with a $100 fee on top of $10 everyday … Situations have been very frustrating getting off work after 6:30pm and not having the option to put money in a drop box then being hit with an non negotiable $100 fee -something I can’t control …it’s for sure scam vibes … Moving into this location back in January I could tell they had high expectations for its residents which sets the tone for me to expect nothing but the best from them as a corporation but they’ve failed horribly. It’s policies are set up just to get more money it’s equivalent to people taking advantage of free government money just because they can -so I’m going to throw this $100 fee on your account just because it’s an option and could care less about anything other than your MONEY… as a corporation this just comes off bad… So aside from the fees you’re paying all this money -it’s not like these are the cheapest AVERAGE units and when I say average I do mean AVERAGE …Are tenants allowed to have expectations as well ….Buildings need to be pressure washed , Mailboxes outdated , not even guaranteed a parking space ( another conversation )…. Pray for the little men an women who are in corporate living off this foolishness and the little people in the leasing offices who try to justify this nonsense…. All in all sad case of doing anything to make a dollar …
