Apartment living and assisted is good, unfortunately the healthcare facility has went down some since many of the good staff and nursing supervisor left years ago. A good activity program for the skilled nursing patients indeed and of course the facility is a smaller one but still wasn’t enough workers to patient ratio. Really the same care as you would get in a Medicaid approved facility. If your loved one has trouble feeding themselves may I suggest you go in daily and feed them or tray with food will be sat in front of them with no assistance which causes an elderly person to forget how to eat and swallow, never a good outcome. Rather than ordering swallowing therapy at the expense of Medicare, simply place an aide with the patient and take time to feed them, this works much better. Same old story with any nursing facility, you better go in a lot to check on your loved one or things get iffy.
