While Ceramic Coating is very strong, it's also nano-thin... So don't expect it to protect against rock chips. I tell people "It replaces wax and you wouldn't expect wax to protect against rock chips.". Paint Protection Film, on the other hand, was designed from the ground-up to protect against rock chips while trying it's best to be invisible. PPF installs as a clear sheet that's usually 8mils thick. The final finish isn't quite as good as Ceramic Coating and it costs much more, so there's a trade-off that must be considered.

Ceramic Coating installs on automotive paint as a liquid and then, over a small period of time, hardens to (at least) the strength of glass. What this means is that the surface of your paint is MUCH more durable compared to the soft clearcoat. Higher-end ceramic coatings can last 5+ years. It also contains all of the elements that automotive wax uses to protect the paint against UV and environmental damage. In laymen's terms, it's wax that never goes away. As far as Graphene, it's an additional element that further-strengthens the coating. Whereas three or more layers of quality ceramic coating must be installed to last 5+ years, the Graphene can help the coating last 9+ years with just a single layer.

Ceramic is an additional layer added to the tint focused on blocking Infrared Radiation, which is where most of the heat comes from. In our case, we offer tint with one or three layers of ceramic. The more layers, the better the heat blocking.
