Exactly what’s on the package—a no bull history of Black people in Charleston. Be prepared for a slow-paced,, detailed but informative and eye-opening experience.

Best thing we did in Charleston! Frank was fun and informative and left our group feeling like we got a true history of the city. Highly recommend!

Our family enjoyed the tour. It was very informative, unlike the revisionist horse tour companies that make no mention of African history and chattle slavery in Charleston.

Frankly Charleston Walking Tour The owner of this business, Franklin Williams, conducts this tour and provides excellent insight into the history of urban development in Charleston. As a certified Charleston tour guide, he prepared this unique tour by conducting independent research over a period of years to learn the accurate history of how Charleston was colonized and built. He clarified the fact that Gullah is a cultural creation out of enslaved Africans from West African and Central African nations skilled in growing rice. If you seek accurate history, this tour is a must do!
