The young lifeguards are terrible! Their attitudes are terrible, their mouths are terrible… I won’t be coming here again because of the negative attitudes. Period

My wife and I are trying to give this place our money as opposed to a chain gym/fitness center. Man, do they make it tough. Doesn't open til 8AM in the winter -- so when it's -10 out so I can't workout outside, I can't go here before work. However, in the summer, when I can get up and go workout outside, they open at 6AM. 2 times in the last month we went in the evening to swim. The first time, the pool was closed for cleaning. We left, towels and flops in hand, disappointed. Second time, we went after work at 530, and they had swim lessons until 8 (not posted on their website) but did have an hour of open swim. At 8pm. I understand there's a shortage of staff and community centers struggle, but this place does zero research on what boxes people check when they look for a workout place -- availability and attention to detail.

Very nice staff and bathrooms!

Excellent pool. It has diving boards, water slides, kiddie pool, and family changing room. Well staffed with lifeguards. Plus it's next to a playground. After the kids are done swimming, take them to the park to finish burning off whatever energy they have left. Bring a snack or lunch.

There are many different classes offered there in the pool. If you go to the websight: cityofbrooklyncenter org., you will find the links for the community Activity Center and the fitness classes offered including the ones in the pool.
Its part of the entry fee. I think its 5 bucks
They don't call it a gym... they call it a "fitness center" or "exercise room" They have about 45 machines of various types. I don't see a capacity sign, but based on the number of machines, I'd say about 100 people.
