We requested their assistance to move a 4 bedroom house. We had >95% of all items on 1st level of house. Everything was disassembled and packed in boxes. We only needed their assistance to move heavy and hard to handle furniture items. This was because we had planned on moving ourselves, but one of us got injured the week of our move. So, we weren’t sure how much we could actually do without assistance. We requested the movers to help for the minimum of 2 hours. We already had a 26ft truck rented. We kept it and We packed that alongside the movers (2 of us and 1 was injured). AAA recommend and sent 3 movers. We were very clear when we scheduled that they were only to move the large items and we needed a minimum amount of time. We moved 7 miles and only moved our stuff into the garage because we hadn’t closed on the house yet. And, because we packed our own 26ft rental full, AAA essentially moved 1/2 of our house with their truck. This took them >7 hours. Again, 1/2 of our house…most everything was boxed and on 1st level of departure home…and only moved into garage of purchased home…3 of them! These are the facts, you judge if you think this is a good deal. Oh, and I have photos of their truck after 4.5 hours of loading with 3 people. I can share and you can judge the value. IMO… Unacceptable and ridiculously expensive considering the amount of items they actually moved.
