Well maintained and clean rest area. Nice walking path at the back to stretch your legs.

Hi, my name is Tess and I am spending the night at this rest area to be heading home in the morning. As I went inside to use the bathroom, a customer was entering the building with 2 dogs. None were service animals. I politely asked him not to enter because I am highly allergic to cat and dog dander. Like the smell alone would send me into shock to where I am literally smothering. I ask the lady janitor to ask him to remove his dog's because clearly there is a sign posted no animals in the building. She told me he can do whatever he wants, and as she stated "he lives here". I told her, she need to enforce the rules and I told her if he doesn't get his dogs out here, I will call the police and ambulance, because I know my illness. I know my body. She was very rule and when I told her I was going to call the police the gentleman then decided to not enter the building. Oh and as she was cleaning, she was smoking a cigarette in the building I might ad and wearing with alcohol. This is unacceptable as an employee of a rest area. There are a lot of homeless people living here and it really breaks my heart.

State highway department is my guess. They should be able to help.
Yes, just bring your own grill, they have lots of picnic tables to sit at also.
Good question that I don't know
According to the posted signage it's only 4 hour usage for private vehicles and 6 for commercial tractor trailers in a 24 hour period. This however is not really inforced. As long as one is respectful to both other travelers around you and the area itself and keep in mind that there is no actual tent camping allowed and no open flames such as bonfires or camp stoves allowed. There is many actual camp grounds very close like the KOA just west of here off of Maple Grove Parkway. I personally know many I've met through my travels has spent seasons at this location when other options were unavailable. I've heard some mention that they thought the staff seems rude also, but keep in mind they deal with all kinds, good and bad. So after talking with these kind people, as long as you show kindness and respect to them you may meet a new friend. They actually really do care. So enjoy but respect all.
Black Friday it's closed does anyone know when it will be open?
