The general store is closed for business but on Friday nights around 7pm they open the doors for down home country bluegrass performers and the public. You have got to witness these musicians displaying their craft. Free to the public, donations accepted. The building itself is preserved with many old items on display.

Phipps Store cannot be explained on a forum like this . If you like bluegrass music, if you like Mountain Music and would like to see its Origins, come out any Friday night at 7. You'll be amazed. If you don't like bluegrass or Mountain. Music it's a bit out of the way. There are some pictures up on Google which would give you an idea
