I finally was able to get an apt to see the doctor at this facility on 6/23/2022 the appointment went good, however the doctor I saw sent referrals so I could see some specialists I needed to. The most important referral I needed was for a neurologist due to me having Chiari Malformation and the fact my headaches have been getting worse and now it has started to bother my eyesight. Those referrals were put in on 6/23/2022 now I do understand it takes time to get everything processed. I called the office several times and was told the provider they sent it to was not in network with my insurance, ok I understand that. They then said they would find a provider in network with my insurance, here it is 8/30/2022 and I have still not heard from the office. So I just switched to a new PCP at a different facility. I'm not sure what the hold up was or is but it should not take this long to find a neurologist. I have called my insurance and received a list of all the providers that are in network.

We have just added a new service, retinal eye exams. This is a screening service that is especially helpful to our diabetic and/or geriatric patients. The results from this screening tool are reviewed by an ophthalmologist. If a problem is detected then we refer patients to a local eye doctor of his/her choice for follow-up. This is just another option to assist in keeping patients healthier. If a patient does not want this service then he or she may refuse. However, the results from an eye exam with his/her local physician is needed to place in the electronic medical record here to show that we are providing good, thorough medical evaluations. Community Medical Clinic and other primary care providers are being held accountable to insurance companies, and in our case, the federal government, to make sure we are doing all we can to improve the health of our patients. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to call us and ask. Thank you for your question!
