I receive Medicaid. I recently changed my legal name. I've tried using the automated number to update my legal name. After I put in my social and birthdate, it tells me: "This case has been transferred to a case worker. Please contact [Clarke County DFCS]" The 227 number here. I have left multiple messages explaining that I am unable to find any forms on the Gateway website which allow for me to update my legal name. I have not heard back from this number. I have been funneled into this number being the only way I can update my legal name. I will not be able to continue to receive my Medicaid if it goes to my former name. It would take literally 30 seconds for them to update my name in the system. Meanwhile, I have an infected gum abscess and am unable to utilize any Medicaid-accepting dental office. Guess I'll just die then. Joking. But still... Like another reviewer have mentioned: The phone must be for show. What's the point of even having a phone number if you're not going to use it?

I'm convinced the phones here are just for show. I was supposed to have a phone interview last Monday and my case worker never called. I've tried calling her, her supervisor, and her supervisor's supervisor multiple times through last week and this week just to simply figure out what my next steps should be. I'm calling the Main Office number right now and it's been ringing for 4 minutes straight. If the office is closed to the public, how am I supposed to get help on this application?

Can’t get in touch with anyone and that’s sad a child could truly be in danger

This office is beset with corruption on all levels. There needs to be some type of audit with this office and monitoring from the Federal government. This office does not follow agency rules regarding the processing of applications. In addition, clients are not given the opportunity to have due process in regards to their case when they lose their benefits. Applications are also routinely destroyed so that they do not have to process applications. This office ignores federal rules and regulations.
