We visited Flute bar on August 13th for my Birthday celebration in a party of 9 people. We had a private mixology class at the venue that we arranged in advance and paid in full for everyone in our party. When we arrived at the place, we had to spend around 45 minutes waiting for our table (although we arranged all the experience in advance and paid in full). One of my guests had to leave before the class started. Before of the delay she didn’t get to try any of the drinks. So we could only take the class in a party of 8 people. The mixology class itself was good and included 3 drinks that we mixed ourselves. The bartender that was teaching us provided instructions on how to mix the drinks as well as some historical information about each drinks and we found it entertaining. However me and my guests were very disappointed about the delay and the fact that the bar wasn’t ready for us when we arrived. I reached out to the bar a few times after that to get a refund for the 9th person who couldn’t get to participate in the class clearly because the bar wasn’t ready when we arrived. The bar management ignored my requests - this is clearly not a good service.

Nice place it’s quiet but it needs some update in the interiors

•NYC had many speakeasies. Legs Diamond was primarily a bootlegger. Legs Diamond co-owned (with Hymie Cohen) one speakeasy or club, the Hotsy Totsy Club, at 1721 Broadway (bet. 54th & 55th Sts), NYC (around the corner and across the street from where Flûte is today). •"Flûte Midtown is located in the space once occupied by Club Intime, a speakeasy which was run by the notorious former showgirl Texas Guinan. Texas Guinan was infamous for her brazen disregard of Prohibition, her army of scantily clad showgirls, her witty catch-phrases and her string of New York nightclubs. The club was raided by the police at 12:30am on April 17, 1929 and shut down just as the floor show was about to start." (assembled from Flûte's online pages)
