What a nice memorial for world peace! Wish it were in a more populated place and not directly next to a parking lot. It’s a huge bell and there’s a statue next to it that’s dedicated to fire fighters. Very symbolic. The quotes on the statue are also wonderful to read.

An absolute disappointment. Took a day trip for my nine year old to experience the ringing of the bell (since that's what's advertised everywhere) to get there to find out the bell no longer rings. We even had to find that out from an officer at the local police department. Many employees of the establishment it's associated with walked in and out of the building, not once, acknowledging us. They looked down to the pavement and ran to get in their building. If you want a quick stop to stretch your legs, that's about all you'll get.

We waited for the bell to ring at noon as advertised, but it did not ring. Disappointing.

The bell is one of many made to promote the idea of world Peace. Originally it was going to stand in a large tower call Millennium Tower next to the river but those plans were reduced and now it sits where it is in Newport. A small museum sits next to it. The hours of which i am unsure of.
