This is my first time being at this location and I had a great time. When I first came in - the receptionist was welcoming, efficient and checked me in quickly. Then, as soon as she checked me in- I was sent to my appointment in a quick matter which most places lack that! I loved it. Dr. Strachan was straight forward and diagnosed me immediately and was very thorough. I loved the fact she knew what exactly I needed and got everything down in a timely manner!! I had a great experience- will be keeping them long term. ❤️

How much does a chemical peel cost? It will depend on the type of peel and why one is getting the chemical peel. Some insurances cover chemical peels for acne and chemical peels for hyperpigmentation. Chemical peels are also sometimes covered for precancerous lesions such as actinic keratoses. If your peel is not covered by insurance is will be anywhere from $500 to $200 in our office.

Chemical peels can be done on all skin types. There are different types of peels. Some peels are less safe on people with darker skin. The person doing the peel needs to know how to select the right peel for the patient's skin type. We have a lot of experience doing chemical peels on people with black skin as well as others.

Are chemical peels safe people with dark skin?

Chemical peels can be done on people of all skin types. The issue with people with darker skin is that if they get a complication they are more likely to get post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or dark marks. There are many different types of chemical peels. They key is to have your peel done by someone with the expertise to match the right person with the right peel. An expert should not only know how to do the peel (which is the easy part) but also know who SHOULD NOT get a peel and what other problems need to be addressed before one gets a peel. This is why we recommend you get a chemical peel by, or under the supervision of, a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in all skin types like Dr. Strachan.

Acne isn't the same in every person. We offer a variety of medical and surgical treatments for acne and acne scars but first we have to see how the disease is affecting the individual. First we evaluate the patient by taking a thorough history and examining the person's skin. After that we discuss options and recommendations for acne treatment. There are many types of hair loss, or alopecia, so there are many types of treatments. We want to make sure we match each person with the right treatment for hair loss. We first diagnose what kind of hair loss the person has through taking a history, doing a physical examination, and sometimes also a skin biopsy or blood tests. Only after we have made an assessment of the type of hair loss do we suggest therapy.
