We have experience with many plumbing companies, over our 35 years of home ownership. Casco rates the highest in my book. There was a leak somewhere between the house and well head. This company offered a trenchless repair option, others wanted to dig up the front yard with a backhoe. Jason, who provided the estimate, actually performed the work. When they discovered the leak was where the pipe exited the foundation the estimate was changed to a spot repair, saving us $$. The invoice provided a very detailed explanation of the work performed and we were reminded several times about their two year warranty, on the work performed. None of our past service companies offered a warranty. Casco is our plumber, for work in the future. In addition, while the above leak was being repaired, Casey arrived to replace the well pump. Since it was overworked from the leak it was replaced as a precaution. He was equipped to get it done with minimal hassle. The pump was replaced previously, by a different well company, it took 3 onsite to do the job. Casey worked independently. Once again I was reminded of the 2 year warranty. It was lettered on his truck.

Overall, very pleased with Casco. Installation of my new water heater was professional and fairly priced. Removed 2 stars due to lack of proper communications regarding my appointment as did not get any confirmation the day before or day of. Was told 7am when I booked it. I called at 8:30am to make sure they were still coming. No answer so left a VM. Nobody called me back. Called again at 9:45am and this time they answered and simply told me the installer was picking up the water heater and would arrive soon. Arrived about 3 and a half hours late. The installer told me he had trouble with his truck battery. I would have thought the office could have simply called me a told me he would be late, particularly after I left a VM. I had rescheduled work calls around this appointment. In addition, was told the appraisal fee would be credited to the final bill if ended up moving forward. I had to bring this up with the installer as the final bill did not have the appraisal cost removed. He said I would have had to book it the exact same day I got the appraisal to get the credit. Needless to say I pushed back on this and he ended up removing it. But I find it unprofessional when companies play misleading games like this for a simple appraisal fee. I don't mind them charging it, but stand behind your commitment to credit it if a customer proceeds with the service.

Town of Front Royal notified me I had gone through 10,000 gallons of water in a week, so I contacted CASCO. Justin did a thorough inspection and determined where the leak was located outside the house. We scheduled a repair appointment, which CASCO was not able to keep because Justin got sent to a flooded house instead. CASCO informed me immediately and rescheduled me for the following day. I have no problem with this at all…they communicated promptly, were very apologetic, and I would hope if my house was flooding I would get bumped up the priority list. The next day Justin was still at the flooded house so Duane came out to do my job. Fantastic experience. Duane is very friendly and a total pro. Kept me informed during the leak isolation and repair process and, in my mind, went out of his way to make sure the dig site was restored to how it had previously looked. He and his crew member Josh did great work and everyone I had contact with during the entire process was friendly, helpful, and professional. I cannot recommend CASCO Plumbing highly enough!

A gas leak can be a dangerous and sometimes fatal hazard in your home, especially if it should go unnoticed for an extended period of time. Most gas leaks are the result of poorly fitted, faulty, or unmaintained gas appliances such as boilers and stovetops. While many gas leaks can be easily identified by their distinct odor, others may be odorless and leave signs such as a constantly extinguishing pilot light, scorch marks around appliances, or excessive condensation on windows. If you smell gas or observe any of these signs, evacuate your building and call our Winchester gas plumbing experts immediately.
Like most things in your home, your pipes have a set lifespan and will eventually need to be replaced. Corrosion and rust from constant use can cause issues such as leaks, rust-colored water, or even major flooding if left unrepaired. While different piping materials will have varying lifespans, generally speaking, it is recommended you have your pipes replaced if your home is more than 40 years old. Our skilled Winchester piping and repiping specialists can evaluate the condition of your pipes and recommend a suitable replacement.
Winters in Virginia can be brutal. It is important you prepare your plumbing to weather the extreme cold. By installing insulation for your piping with foam or fiberglass, you can prevent the water from freezing.
If your pipes are not properly insulated when winter hits, it can cause the moisture in them to freeze. The pipes can expand and burst, causing extensive plumbing damage. If you do have frozen pipes, it is important that you turn off the main shut off valve to the water. You can then open the sink faucet at the lower level in your building, which will move water through the vulnerable pipes.
Getting rid of bad smelling drains has never been easier. You just need to clean your drains and plumbing. However, that can be easier said than done. Our Winchester plumbers have over two decades of experience and can handle the situation for you.
If you smell odors from your drain, particularly those that smell like rotten eggs, it can mean you have buildup in your drains. When organic material becomes lodged in the plumbing, it can cause bad smells to emit.
Low water pressure can indicate many different issues. It could simply mean that another faucet is in use. Or it can mean something more serious is happening like a leak in your pipes. Other causes can be mineral build ups in your pipes, you have undersized piping, or your municipality is feeding your lower water pressure.
Tankless water heaters are a convenient way to heat up your water, without spending a lot and saving room. Because the heater doesn't have a bulky tank to store gallons of water, it only heats the water you are using. Maintenance is straightforward too.
When it comes to looking for the right water heater for your property, everyone will have different requirements. Some things you can look out for include the brand. A strong brand name can mean reliability and dependability. Additionally, they often offer warranties and can help you navigate claims. Other things to look for is how much water you use and how big you need your heater to be. Also, think about whether you want to go for a traditional water heater or if you want to go tankless.
Before your water heater gives out completely, there are signs that can warn you. If your heater is older than 10 years, it may be time to replace it. Additionally, rusty water, banging noises, and pooling water around the unit all mean you may need to replace the unit.
