My husband and I visited OBC this past Sunday. We were enjoying the service until the pastor of the church began his opening/welcoming remarks. He was sharing ways for the congregation to get involved in the community, and mentioned an upcoming Prince William County Schools School Board meeting where the topic of "transgenderism" would be discussed. He went on to encourage church members (and mothers with children, in particular) to sign up to speak at said school board meeting. He suggested that members of the transgender community were a threat and harm to children, and encouraged his church members to speak out against the issue. My husband and I were so upset and offended by his remarks that we got up and left. People go to church to be uplifted, encouraged, and loved. . . not to have a narrow-minded pastor's hateful opinions forced on them! We couldn't believe our ears! We will never visit this church again!!

This church is a church in which you can trust the elders to make the right choices according to God's word. This church is amazing. However, it differs in a lot of aspects from other churches, but what I love is that everything is biblical. For example, everything we learn is from the bible, and the elders do such an amazing job with providing visuals, etc. Furthermore, the atmosphere is welcoming and the worship team does an amazing job. Overall, OBC is a good church and your experience will be amazing. Lastly, we must remember that God is everywhere. I hope that you would visit us more than once, for you can't judge us by one visit=] Have a blessed day and may God help you as you search for a home church.

Hello Sophia, Our invitation to attend worship services is open to the community, and we are glad to welcome guests who want to visit and learn more about our Lord Jesus Christ. We gather every Sunday to worship God, and this includes singing, prayer, reading of Scripture, and hearing the preaching of God’s Word. We preach Christ as our crucified and risen Lord, we believe every part of God’s Word is true, and the Bible calls all to repent of their sin and trust in Jesus’s death and resurrection.
